more miracles on campus this week with MIRACLEFEST

It's called MIRACLEFEST! And it's all about gathering more miracle members and getting involved this year in a series of events beginning Wednesday, August 25th. Yet again, the organization is trying to raise more money FOR THE KIDS! So check out this list of events that takes place Wednesday through Sunday of THIS week!

Wednesday, August 25th: From 7-9PM, at Last Call downtown there will be a ugaMiracle kick-off. Information about committees and how to become involved will be available along with special guest appearances from UGa cheerleaders, Hairy Dog, and 2 Miracle children.

Thursday, August 26th: ugaMiracle members will be in the dining halls all over campus to spread the word about the organization to freshmen and students from 5-8PM. So while eating dinner, stop by and chat with one of these involved representatives!

Friday, August 27th: This Friday ugaMiracle will be sponsoring a benefit concert featuring PAT GREEN! (more details about the show in my blog post below) : )

Saturday, August 28th: Miraclefest spreads to Atlanta on Saturday with ugaMiracle's first annual Atlanta Family Day! It will be from 1 - 3PM at Marist High School! So go spend some time with the miracle children, have fun, play games, and enjoy some good food!

Sunday, August 29th: To end the kick-off week, ugaMiracle will have a trivia night at Your Pie in Five Points! The event begins at 8PM, and all other Your Pies will be having a percentage night for ugaMiracle. So when you're hungry from this week of festivities on Sunday, why not eat some delicious pizza from this emerging and popular chain!

ugaMIRACLE benefit concert 1 week from today!

Welcome back everyone! It's time to begin another year of amazing benefit concerts, and this one is right on campus too! Next Friday, August 27th, ugaMiracle is hosting a benefit concert featuring Pat Green at Legion Field! Doors open at 6PM. The concert will begin with Stewart and Winfield at 7pm and Pat Green at 8PM; tickets are only $20 at the door ($17 if you buy them in advance). Proceeds from the event go to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. So please please come out, reunite with friends for a good cause AND listen to some amazing music!

ugaMiracle is a completely student-run organization and is one of the major contributors to Children's Miracle Network, which benefits Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. This year will celebrate ugaMiracle's 15th year on the UGA campus; total funds raised equalling more than $2 million for the kids! ugaMiracle differs from many other student organizations because it independently provides for all the projects and events that it undertakes. It operates on a low-budget to make larger donations for the children. A large portion of the UGA student population is involved with this organization, and I encourage you to check out all of the events it will be sponsoring throughout the year! Back in the ATH and ready to serve!

Hello all! I'm finally back in the beautiful and charitable ATHENS!! This past summer was amazing. I spent all of May in Australia studying sustainability in human societies and the environment and then moved on to Fiji for a short summer session. I learned different methods that companies and societies use to preserve the natural environment and am now proud to say I live a more GREEN lifestyle. I've decided to start up my blog again to keep all of you 'do-gooders' updated about local charities, philanthropies, and fund-raisers going on in our favorite college town! So stay posted for some great events and news coming your way!
